Q.  How many days do we have to wait before marrying after we apply for marriage license.

A.  In Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the waiting period after applying for marriage license is 3 days.

Q.  How long is a marriage license valid?

A.  In Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a marriage license is valid for 60 days.

Q.  How many months prior to wedding date should I book the ceremony and reception sites?

A. If you are planning a wedding reception with 75 or more guests, it is a good idea to book at least 12 months prior to your wedding date.  If you are flexible as to venue, time, and day of the reception, leaving at least 6 months should give you enough time to secure a site for your reception.  If you have your heart set on a Saturday or Sunday reception in mid afternoon or early evening, it would be best to plan on booking your reception site and site for ceremony at least 12 months in advance.
